Chris

Hi! I serve part time in the finance office. I prepare accounts payable invoices, do general record keeping and miscellaneous office tasks.

I was not raised in a Christian family. Through a family tragedy & prayers of her co-workers, my mother became born again and began to pray for and witness to us. During this time, I experienced a series of my own personal challenges. My mother invited me to Christmas Eve service, where I was deeply touched by several testimonies. Three nights later, all alone and feeling like I did not have a friend in the world, I said these simple words, “Maybe God and Jesus can help me”. Suddenly, I saw the sin in my life, and began to weep for a long time. I began to ask my mother many questions about God & Jesus, she invited me to her ladies Bible Study, and I began to grow by leaps and bounds. I was on fire for God and told everyone I knew about the Lord.

I met my husband, Irv Heller, at a church singles group. He had been transferred to Columbus by New Holland Supply. Irv was born and raised in Lancaster County in a Mennonite family; our backgrounds could not have been more different. Our friendship turned into marriage and a move to Lancaster County. Irv’s friends, Mel and Ruth Hurst, invited us to come to the Worship Center. Through all our moves including Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to attend Rhema, and then Kansas City, Missouri for Irv’s job relocation, we considered WC our home church. Over the years we served in children’s ministry, small groups, Alpha, and more.
