Back to School Bash – Paint Wars
August 20 6:00 - 8:30 pm | Student Center
Get ready for an unforgettable start to the school year with games, laughter, and something you’ve probably never done before: a paint battle. Wear a white shirt you can get messy, bring your friends, and prepare for a lot of paint and a whole lot of fun.
Before the paint flies, we’ll gather for worship and open God’s Word. It’s a time to pause, refocus, and remember that He is with us in every moment. We’ll encourage one another, pray together, and step into this new school year with hope.
Then the celebration begins. Outside, we’ll let loose with wild paint battles, more games, and time to connect with new friends. This is your chance to start the year with joy, community, and a reminder of what matters most.
FAQ
Will the paint come out?
We’ll be using washable paint, and it should come out, but we can’t make any promises.
I don’t have a white shirt.
We have a limited number of free white shirts available.
I don’t look good in white.
That’s fine — by the end of the night you’ll be covered in every color imaginable.
Should I bring a change of clothes?
Yes, absolutely.
How will I get in the car afterward?
We’ll spray everyone down at the end of the night with a hose. Bringing a towel or change of clothes is a great idea.
Can I get back into the building to change?
No. Once the event starts, no paint is allowed in the building and the doors will be locked.
Where can I change?
We’ll have pop-up changing stations on the field.
Where do I drop off?
Drop off at the normal Converge location. After service, we’ll walk down to the paint field together.
Is the paint safe for skin and hair?
Yes, we’re using non-toxic, washable paint that is safe for skin and hair. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, you may want to test a small area beforehand.
Can I wear goggles or sunglasses?
Yes, if you want extra protection for your eyes, feel free to bring goggles or sunglasses.
What about shoes?
We recommend taking your shoes off for the games.
What if it rains?
We’ll keep the event going unless there’s severe weather. If we need to reschedule, we’ll post updates on our social media and text alerts.
Will there be food or drinks?
We will not be providing a meal for this event, but water will be available at the field.
Can I win the paint battle?
Technically no, but if you walk away covered head to toe in paint, you can tell everyone you did.
Can I come and not get messy?
Yes! We’ll have a safe zone area for anyone who wants to watch and enjoy the fun without participating in the messy festivities.
