Kingdom Driven Generosity – Pt 3
Luke 6:37-38 (NLT)
37 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
THE LAW OF RECIPROCITY:
– God will overflow your life with what you generously pour into others.
THE PRACTICE OF RECIPROCITY:
1. Sow faithfully.
Malachi 3:8-11 (NLT)
8 “Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’ “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. 9 You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! 11 Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
– Releasing what you have for God’s purposes makes room for multiplication.
2. Wait patiently.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
3. Reap purposefully and repeat.
Matthew 25:19-21 (NLT)
19 “After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. 20 The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’
21 “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
SMALL GROUP MEETING OUTLINE
Where your faith intersects with real life!
Reconnect:
Each person shares a recent high and low from their life.
Explore:
Review the message notes.
Big Idea: The law of reciprocity is a kingdom principle where generosity makes room for multiplication, trusting that God multiplies what we release for His purposes.
Consider:
Choose one or two questions for your Group to discuss as time allows.
1. Share an experience where you’ve seen God multiply something you’ve given or released for His purposes.
2. Discuss the three practices of reciprocity mentioned in the sermon:
a. Sow faithfully — release what you fear to lose.
b. Wait patiently — trust when you can’t see the results.
c. Reap purposefully and repeat — live like it all belongs to Him.
Which of these do you find most challenging and why?
3. The sermon emphasized that multiplication is not for personal gain but for kingdom assignment. How does this perspective change the way we approach generosity and stewardship?
Activate:
Spend a moment in silence to consider your response, then share with the Group.
How might God be asking you to trust Him with your resources right now?
Prayer:
Thank God for the highs and lift up the lows.
Thank God for His generosity towards us and ask for wisdom and courage to be generous stewards of all He has entrusted to us. Pray for opportunities to participate in God’s kingdom work through our giving.
