What is Integrity?

Matt Mylin   -

If you can understand how personal integrity impacts wise decision-making, you’ll develop a helpful filter for making decisions that lead to purpose, peace of mind, and a life you enjoy.

Unfortunately, many people separate decision-making from integrity and find themselves confused, stressed out, and filled with regret from past decisions. There is a better way.

Walking with integrity leads to thinking clearly.

Thinking clearly leads to making better decisions.

What is integrity?

Here are some deep thinkers who brought clarity to integrity.

“Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.” – C.S. Lewis.

“Integrity gives you real freedom because you have nothing to fear since you have nothing to hide.” – Zig Ziglar

“Integrity is a life where your beliefs and intentions are aligned with your words and actions.” – Stephen Lovegrove.

“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted in important affairs.” – Albert Einstein

“You can easily judge a man’s character by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Integrity is a characteristic that everyone appreciates in other people, but most people don’t count the cost of living themselves.

The word comes from a mathematical term, integer. An integer is a whole number. It represents a thing that is complete in itself.

A person who walks in integrity is honest. They have strong moral principles, live with an undivided state of mind, speak the truth in love, and live that way whether someone’s watching or not.

Walking with integrity is easy — unless you’re living with people, raising a family, you have a job with responsibilities, or you’re trying to earn and manage money.

Real life will test your integrity.

Walking with integrity is one decision that influences every decision.

It’s a way of life in real life.

What do we experience when we walk with integrity? Here is the principle and the promise:

“For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity” (Proverbs 2:6-7).

Integrity will protect you with a treasure chest of common sense.

Remember:

– The Lord is the source of wisdom.

– He guards those who walk with integrity.

– He grants a treasure chest of common sense to those who search.

– Walking with integrity will give you the wisdom to make better decisions.
