More Than We Imagine

August 22, 2021

Imagination is the ability to picture what is not actually present. Scripture reminds us that God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask, think, or imagine according to his power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). God wants to work in us so that he can work through us to accomplish his purpose. Yet sometimes fear or lack of confidence can keep us from fulfilling the plan God has for our lives. We see evidence of this truth in the story of Nehemiah. He aligned his heart with God’s will through prayer. This alignment with God gave him confidence and clarity of vision to rebuild what was broken, even in the midst of being afraid.

Jesus did not build his church to be a crowd of spectators but to be a team of participators. Imagine for a moment, if every person in the church was in alignment with God’s will for their life, walked in the confidence that he gives, and had clarity in their assignment. What kind of church would we be? God is able to do immeasurably more than we imagine when his power is at work within us.
