Zambia Trip Recap Blog
Recently, Amber Esh and I returned from Zambia, where we had the opportunity to spend five days with our Global Partner, Christopher Alam and his team during an open-air crusade in Chaisa. Crusades typically last 5–6 nights, with each evening including worship, Gospel preaching, prayer for healing, and ministry time.
During our time there, we witnessed God moving powerfully through salvations, healings, miracles, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We also saw Him moving through the quiet faithfulness of Christopher’s team—men who have committed their lives to serving the Lord alongside him, some for the past 20 to 30 years. We saw the compassion of Jesus through local pastors who continue faithfully, following up with those who gave their lives to Christ during the crusade.
One powerful testimony was of a young boy whose broken hip had not healed properly. He arrived at the service using crutches, but after prayer, God touched his body, and he walked away without needing them. Others who were deaf or hard of hearing experienced restored hearing, and people with impaired eyesight testified that they could see clearly after receiving prayer.
Leading up to each crusade, Christopher’s ministry team conducts a three-week Bible school for local pastors. They are equipped with biblical teaching, trained in effective prayer ministry, and taught how to follow up with new believers after the crusade. People are encouraged to connect with local churches so they can continue growing in their faith and relationship with the Lord. This follow-up process is a vital part of the ministry, helping new believers become connected and discipled within the local church.
Although we were in Zambia for only a short time, Christopher and Britta Alam have faithfully served in ministry for many years and recently celebrated 50 years of ministry. Their obedience to the call of God has impacted thousands of lives around the world. Through their ministry, more than 1,500 churches have been planted, and thousands of pastors have been trained through their ministry schools.
The Gospel is being preached, lives are being transformed, and all glory belongs to God.
