You Are Not Alone

Published June 2, 2026

Those close to me know I enjoy growing my faith through listening to podcasts. I put my earbuds in, jump on my bike, and ride, listening to various leaders. This morning I listened to an interview with Dr. Henry Cloud. You may want to listen to this yourself. Here's the link.

What jumped out to me from this interview is that we are not alone. At one point, Dr. Cloud said we humans are in a closed system. What we have and have access to is closed and limited. However, God is in His own open system He created.

Therefore, while we are subject to the law of entropy (the winding down of life and energy), God is not. As we understand this and call upon Him, we are not only saved spiritually, but we are also connected to the One who has what we need to flourish in this life for His glory.

You might remember the story of Moses. God told him He would send an angel out ahead of him into the Promised Land. Moses challenged this in his dialogue with God, saying he did not want an angel, but he wanted God Himself to lead Israel into the Promised Land. Exodus 33:14 records God's response:

"The Lord replied, 'I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.'"

We need to hear that regularly, don't we? Amid another argument with our spouse, we can take a breather and remember we have access to the One who can help us navigate a difficult decision or discussion. We are not alone.

No, we are not alone when one of our children goes astray, either. The peace and faith God provides can move us to believe Him on behalf of our child.

No, you are not alone as you face your life challenges. You have a relationship with a heavenly Father who loves you dearly. Talk to Him.

With great hope for you and your family,
