Parenting Well

Parenting? Need some help?

In our early years of parenting, we needed help. Thankfully, our church at the time offered a course very similar to the Parenting Well course we have at Worship Center. It gave us the tools we needed to raise responsible children who knew our deep love for them and the boundaries they needed. Was it easy? No, important things never are, but it was worth it.

Starting Wednesday, September 9, our Parenting Well course will be led once again by Doug and Pegge Moister. Doug and Pegge have been faithfully serving parents at WC for several years. Doug is a retired teacher and football coach. Pegge is a retired nurse. Together, they fostered dozens of children over the years while parenting their own. This course is a passion area for them. If you are a parent, I believe it can become a significant resource for you.

Parenting Well involves going through video curricula based on Danny Silk’s book, Loving Our Kids on Purpose, and Andy and Sandra Stanley’s book, Parenting, Getting it Right. The videos are accompanied by table discussion questions Doug and Pegge have put together for parents to process the material presented.

So, how can you sign up for Parenting Well? Very simply. You can save your seat now for the fall semester by going to the link below. Along with the course, you will have the added bonus of taking your children to WC Kids while you grow in your parenting skills. And a double bonus is that the church will offer a low-cost meal each Wednesday evening before the class begins. We’ve got the bases covered. All we need is you 😊. Here's the link

Finally, before I close this blog, I wanted to share a podcast I've been listening to. It's Steve Cuss interviewing Jenny Brown about parenting. Here's the link to the podcast.

Summers are great, but they require extra parenting skills. I trust these resources will be helpful to you in the days ahead.

P.S. If you are no longer parenting but know a couple who could use these resources, please pass this information along to them.
