Parenting With the One Who Builds What Lasts
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY —
Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, and most days can feel like you’re figuring things out as you go.
Psalm 127:3-4 reminds us we’re not building alone: “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.”
Children are a gift from God.
They’re not a project to manage or a problem to fix, but a gift from Him to you.
You may feel inadequate. You may have made mistakes. But it’s not an accident. God gave you those children because he knew you could handle it.
You’re not alone. Look to the one who gave them for instructions, for wisdom, for strength, for guidance.
You’re parenting with the One who builds what lasts.
Children are like arrows.
In ancient times, arrows were shaped with care, aimed with intention, and released with purpose.
That’s what parenting is. Children are not meant to stay in the quiver.
Parenting is the slow release of letting them fly.
Prepare them by helping them grow into who God made them and release them with confidence.
Direct them. Don’t control them. You are part of something much bigger than just surviving the day. You’re raising someone who can make a difference in the world.
You are shaping the next generation of spiritual warriors.
And God is with you in it.
