Myanmar Earthquake Relief Update
It’s been just over 6 weeks since a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook Myanmar. In the past month, our Worship Center church family has given $8,897 to help with relief efforts.
We included an additional $5,000 from Worship Center missions, for a total of $13,897! This money is going directly to help people affected by the earthquake.
In desperate and challenging times, our Global Partners, the Mungs, are bringing hope and healing to those affected. Pastor Mung and Niang returned to the States from Myanmar only days before the earthquake hit. Their daughter, Saan Pi, is a Registered Nurse here in the States but just returned to Myanmar to help friends who lost family members, homes, churches, and businesses.
They are helping to clear rubble, rebuild homes, hand out rice and oil, and get access to clean drinking water. They are also meeting spiritual needs and sharing the Gospel whenever possible. If you want to follow along with all the good happening in Myanmar, you can follow their Facebook page.
Worship Center is sending $5,000 of the $13,897 to the Mungs to help them continue these relief efforts. This money will go towards making meals for people who have lost their homes and continuing to provide fresh drinking water.
We have sent the remaining $8,897 to Chazak, an organization sending professional first responder teams to help clean up.
In an email from Saan Pi, she said: “We sincerely thank the Worship Center family for always praying and supporting generously for Myanmar. Please continue to pray for the nation of Myanmar to know and accept Jesus as their savior.”
