Heather
I have since served the role as the Graphic Designer since 2017 and I am Head of Photography here at Worship Center. In these roles I have enjoyed assisting every ministry in the church with compelling visuals to help further point people to Jesus.
I grew up in Lancaster, PA and always had an interest in the arts. In 2016, I graduated from Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Photography. I always had big dreams to go far and work at a big name graphic design firm, but God had other plans in mind. A year before my projected graduation, I got in a major car accident and ended up a traumatic brain injury (Being on the computer was one of the most difficult things for me because of the blue light hurting my brain). Though I still ended up graduating (through God’s strength only) I had doubts back then that I could ever handle a workday on the computer as a graphic designer and my dreams felt crushed. But God knew my heart and had a better plan in mind. I started attending Worship Center in the summer of 2017 and, through a friend, I felt led to apply for the Graphic Designer position. The church was willing to work with my recovering concussion state and I began to heal both physically and spiritually.
What was so cool, though, was how God knew my innermost desires. I always had a passion for missions and ministry but never thought I’d get the chance to combine them both. Now, on the daily, I love having the Holy Spirit guide me in my designs, whether it’s a series design or a simple Instagram post.
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4
