With the decline of the family structure, more and more teens and young adults need someone to walk alongside them. This does not require expertise in any area, but a heart that's willing to listen and love.
We have multiple opportunities to come alongside people in various stages of life:
- Tutor a student by helping with homework after school
- Connect with an urban young person and offer a big brother or big sister type of relationship
- Spend time with an ex-offender by driving them to some required meetings engaging in conversation along the way.
- Come alongside a refugee and mentor them in how life works in this nation.
One of the greatest ways to address the growing needs in our community is by putting a face, a name, and a story to the statistics. Change begins one person at a time.
