Meet Tony Yang, a vocalist, and one of Worship Center's newest worship leaders.

by McKenna Whisler on August 08, 2018

Tony Yang serves on the Worship Team at Worship Center. I met up with Tony recently, and asked him some questions to help you get to know him better.

What's one thing that people may not know about you?
I love playing sports. Football is my favorite.

What's something you are passionate about?
Besides music, I am super passionate about youth. That’s what led me to getting involved with The Hub.

Why are you passionate about being a part of the leadership team at The Hub?
I love worship and I love young people. When I first started just leading worship at The Hub, I saw something different than what I expected and that is what led me to volunteer there on a leadership level. I felt like worship was going to really change things at the Hub, and I wanted to be a part of it.

What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to raising up a new generation of worship leaders/worship team members, specifically at the Hub. I am really excited to be a part of that.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Brownstown, PA!

How long have you been at Worship Center?
I started attending regularly just this past December! I had been coming to The Living Room (TLR) for a while before that.

When did you become a Christian?
I was raised in a Christian home and knew about Jesus my whole life, but I made a personal decision to follow Him when I was 12 years old. That’s also when I got baptized.

What's your favorite genre of music?
I love old-school R&B. One of my favorite artists is Brian McKnight.

What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to raising up a new generation of worship leaders/worship team members specifically at the Hub. I am really excited to be a part of that.

When not serving at church, what could we find you doing?
Working at the barber shop, eating sushi, or outside playing sports or fishing.

What is your favorite part of serving at Worship Center?
Seeing people changed! Seeing God move people right in front of me.

How long have you been singing and leading worship?
I started when I was 12! I started off by playing drums on the worship team and then started singing at age 17, and started to take leading worship more seriously when I was around 20 or 21.

Favorite food?
Sushi!

Relationship Status?
Single and ready to mingle!

Tony is super excited to call Worship Center his new home church and he is excited to see how God is going to use him here.
