Passion Week – Sunday – He’s Alive! Now What?
How would you answer that question? Now what?
Now that we have been rescued from the outcome we deserve – separation from God on this earth and eventually hell – we have an opportunity to celebrate each day!
Remember the two disciples who walked with Jesus after His resurrection on the road to Emmaus? They were just living their regular lives, asking the same questions we all ask, wondering whether Jesus was really there for them. And it was actually Jesus walking with them!
Then it happened.
“As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! They said to each other, ‘Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:30-32).
What if Jesus has actually been walking with us and we didn’t even know it?
Today – let’s listen to our hearts right now. I believe he is talking with us as we move about on our way and is wanting to explain scripture to us. He wants to impassion us to live our new life in Him beyond ourselves, our questions, our concerns. He wants us to feel our hearts burning within us.
Activate: Spend some time journaling how you have seen Jesus’ resurrected life in you lately. Ask others how they have seen Him in their lives too. Build an excitement together for new life and share it with one person you may have never shared your faith with before.
Prayer: Jesus, open our eyes to see how You have been there with us all along! Help us to be in touch with how you have let our hearts burn within us. Explain Scripture to us. May we honor you with our lives and may our hope share a story to those around us today and every day!
