At Worship Center:

Our mission is to  lead people to be  growing followers of Jesus who love God and  love people.

What We Believe

God

There is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three equal persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is infinite, unchangeable, just, and loving. He created the heavens and the earth and everything on the earth. Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 40:10-31, 43:10, 1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, revealing the will of God. These writings are without error and the final authority on all matters of faith and how it is lived out. The Bible is the sole basis of our beliefs. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12; Psalms 119:89; Matthew 5:18; Isaiah 40:8

Man

Man was created good and upright in the image of God. Because man sinned, he was separated from God. His only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Every person is God’s masterpiece, uniquely created with a purpose that can be most fully realized through a personal relationship with Jesus. Genesis 1:26, 31; Psalms 8:4-8; Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; 2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus

Jesus Christ came to the earth, was born of a virgin, fully God and fully man, and lived a life without sin. He voluntarily gave his life on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, bringing God’s plan of salvation to all who trust in him alone. After his physical death, Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He promises to return to earth to fulfill the eternal plan of God. Matthew 3:17; 17:5; Luke 3:22; John 1:14, 18; John 3:16, 18, 1 John 4:9; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:33-34; Matthew 1:18-25; Philippians 2:7-11

Salvation

All of scripture points to God’s plan of salvation. Salvation, accomplished through Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, is a free gift from God available to everyone who believes. Christ took the penalty for our sins, placing us in right standing before a holy God. This gift of salvation is accepted by faith, not on the basis of any good works we can do. John 3:16, Hebrews 12:2; Acts 4:12; Luke 19:10; Ephesians 1:7; John 10:9; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 8:16

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is present in the world, convicting every person of their need for Jesus. Believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation, helping them live a life of Christ-like character. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers to be a witness to those around them and brings a deeper realization of their spiritual gifts and the boldness to pursue them. The spiritual gifts that were evident in the early Church are available for us today to encourage and build the Body of Christ. Acts 1:4-8; Luke 24:49; Acts 2:1-4; John 7:37-39; Mark 16:17, John 14:26; John 16:8; Acts 8:16-17; Acts 19:1-7

Eternity

God created man to exist forever. Man will either spend his eternal existence with God through forgiveness and salvation or separated from God because of sin. Eternal union with God is heaven. Eternal separation from God is hell. 1 Corinthians 2:9; Mark 16:16

The Church

The local expression of the Church is wherever believers gather for worship, prayer, fellowship, and the teaching of God’s Word; observe baptism and communion as established by Jesus Christ; and serve others with their God-given talents and gifts. The Church is called to work together in love and unity to make disciples for the ultimate purpose of glorifying God. Romans 12:4-5; Hebrews 10:24-25

Marriage & Sexuality

We recognize that human sexuality is a gift from God, designed by the Creator to be shared within the context of a marriage. We affirm that God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Therefore, the heterosexual union for married persons and committed celibate behavior for unmarried persons are the only Biblical options for human sexual conduct. We believe God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Genesis 1:27, 2:24; I Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 13:4; Romans 1:18-32;  I Corinthians 5:1, 6:9-11

From the Mylins

From the Mylins

Choosing a home church is a significant decision since it influences two important areas of life: faith and community. At Worship Center, you’ll be invited to follow Jesus, encouraged to grow with other people, and inspired to serve our world. We love the local church. Our commitment is to help people of all ages be growing followers of Jesus who love God and love people. Whether you are new to church or new to Worship Center, we hope this place feels like home.
