MOC Luncheon with Dan Cook Recap

On Monday, September 21, Dan Cook shared a brief message with the construction workers during a lunch provided by Ministry of Construction team members. Steph Shunk submitted this report on the event:

“First of all I just want to thank everyone again for serving! For those of you who helped serve a meal, you can back me up when I say that the guys REALLY appreciate it and look forward to it each and every week.

“The comments I hear are that in all the years they've worked on construction sites, they've never seen anything like it. They are blown away by things like the free drinks, the accommodations in the trailer, meals, and hospitality.

“Dan Cook [owner and founder of Building God’s Way, the architectural firm that designed Worship Center’s new facilities] came out to speak with the guys. At first you saw guys smirk and seemed uneasy. But as Dan shared, they grew more serious and really started listening.

“Lunch break is short and sweet, but the workers were impacted by the Holy Spirit that day. There was no pressure, but Dan encouraged the men to pray with him silently as he prayed a prayer of salvation right before they were to go back to work. No doubt they had a lot to think about while finishing out their day!

“The Appreciation Team ended the lunch break by having a drawing. They handed out gift cards for Sears, Lowes, and Olive Garden, with amounts ranging from $20 to $50. What a hit that was!
