Mission Trip Reports
Queretaro, Mexico, Dec. 2008 - On December 6-13, 2008, Henry and Diane Fisher led a team of twelve to Queretaro, Mexico, where they were joined by eight people from Pastor Ruben's church.
Our team was in Queretaro on Sunday where we worshiped at Pastor Ruben's church. In the afternoon, we visited two orphanages and handed out Goody Bags.
On Monday, the team traveled five hours north to Matehuala where we held programs at an average of five different schools per day. Some of the team dressed-up like clowns and entertained the children and then ended with the salvation prayer. In closing, we handed out bags and other miscellaneous items and spent time playing with the children!
The team handed out over 1000 Goody Bags, hundreds of Spanish Christmas cards made by local schools, frisbees, beads, gifts for mothers, and bags specifically designed for babies.
Each team member's life was touched - many by the thankfulness of the children and parents, simplicity of life, and others by stories of what some of these children have experienced so early in life.
The following are testimonies from two of our team members...
I like to hand out goody bags to the kids who don't have much. I'm glad that they have stuff to play with. I liked flying on the airplane. I'm happy I could bring joy to the kids. Castor Shuman, 6 years old
Amazing! I came to bless others, but received more blessings than I could have imagined. The smiles and hugs from the children were so genuine and warming. The clown ministry team was so inspiring and their faith was so real and contagious. I was inspired by how well the Mexican and the American teams partnered together to bring the powerful message of God's love to the children and adults in so many environments. What an honor to say "I was a part of that!" Judy Sadd
